John Fire is a supportive husband and father of 5 children! He owns and operates his own business sharing his talents. He spends his free time helping and serving others. He has voluntarily offered his time in a youth program for boys ages 14-16 that involves teaching them life skills, scouting, hiking, and getting out in the outdoors for survival and outdoor certifications for the past 15 years. John has a huge passion for the outdoors that began in his early youth. He was born in California and moved in his youth to the beautiful desert of Arizona where he found his passion for the outdoors grew! Together, the Fire Family loves to spend time in the fresh air of the Arizona desert. They love to spend their time together hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, and exploring the beautiful scenery Arizona landscape has to offer! John’s passion for being outdoors and his desire to serve others has assisted his efforts in co-founding Hooks and Fur. He loves the outdoors and especially loves helping others share his passion. John loves connections and friendships with new people. He’s got a great personality that makes him easy to get along with and make new friends quickly! John’s love for serving others unites in his passion of being outdoors as he brings together the events and activities Hooks and Fur has to offer!
Brady Busby is a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 who is very involved in the veteran community. He works part time as a fly fishing guide for The Peak Fly Shop in Colorado. Brady is also an ambassador and mentor with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing and knows the benefits of getting into the outdoors and healing through outdoor recreation. Brady authored his memoir Healing Waters as a tribute to his daughter Ashley who died by suicide on 15 March 2018. Brady has been married to Sarah Busby for 22+ years and they have been through many adventures and trials together. Their daughter Emma is an accomplished dancer and loving sister and daughter.
Hooks and Fur is a Combat Veteran founded non-profit helping other Combat Veterans with healing through enjoying the outdoors and making connections with other combat veteran and volunteers.
Hooks and Fur is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of active duty and all honorably discharged combat veterans through outdoor activities such as predator hunting and deep sea fishing and associated activities, including education and outings.
